Amberjack becomes 17th SW broken for Peachtree Stable

3-year-old colt Amberjack captured his stakes debut in the $125,000 Mike Lee S. at Belmont Saturday, June 1st, becoming the 17th stakes winner broken at Eisaman Equine for owner Peachtree Stable.

The promising young colt overtook favorite Weekend Hideaway to prove best in the seven-furlong stakes for New York-breds, winning by 1 3/4 lengths in a swift 1:21.64 over a fast local main track. Amberjack, a $185,000 yearling purchase, earned his third victory from five starts, moving his earnings to $158,875 for Peachtree and trainer Michael Hushion. The chestnut colt is by Indigo Shiner out of the Crafty Friend mare Free as Tristan.
