Kadaya rallies for second straight in Gulfstream turf marathon
RSS Feeds Wednesday, January 23, 2013
Kadaya (IRE) came from about a dozen lengths off the pace Jan. 21 at Gulfstream Park to go 2-for-2 since coming to the U. S. last autumn. The Eisaman training grad won a first-level allowance, also at Gulfstream, on Dec. 8.

Kadaya began her career in France, where he was first or second in four of five starts. Bought privately, the now 5-year-old mare was shipped last September to Bob Hess' barn in Kentucky. In Monday's 1 3/8-mile allowance contest, Kadaya was well off the pace for the first seven furlongs. Joel Rosario took her wide around the last of three turns, setting his sites on the pacesetters. The chestnut daughter of Selkirk struck the front inside the sixteenth pole to win by a half-length.

Lightly-raced Kadaya is now 3-3-0 in seven starts. She is out of the stakes winning mare Kadaka, who is a half-sister to Kahyasi, the Irish 3-year-old champion of 1998, when he won the Irish Derby (G1) and Epsom Derby (G1).
