Eisaman Equine latest training graduate to join the Graded stakes ranks came on closing day of the Keeneland meet when Unitarian took the $250,000 Elkhorn S. (G2) for turf marathoners.

Unitarian had to come from near the back of the 13-horse field to capture the Elkhorn's top prize. Still in tenth place with just a quarter mile to go, jockey Javier Castellano took Unitarian out to the middle of the course to make his winning move.

Making up better than seven lengths in the stretch, Unitarian found yet another gear in the final sixteenth mile, pulling clear to win by 1 1/2-lengths.

The Robert S. Evans homebred, a 4-year-old son of Pulpit out of the Dynaformer mare Minimalist, has now earned $331,480 with a record of 4-3-4 from a 15-race slate. He hails from the same family as 2009 Blue Grass S. (G1) winner General Quarters.
